Why use the Courier Exchange Mobile App?

Mobile applications for the transport industry are highly beneficial for courier drivers. They help put them in control of the entire process and get the most out of being a courier driver. From discovering more work, to getting to their destinations quicker, mobile applications are extremely useful. One such tool is the Courier Exchange Mobile 3.0 App. Read on for an in depth understanding of what each feature in the groundbreaking Courier Exchange App does.

Tracking

Tracking

This feature uses GPS tracking, but it will need to be enabled. Tracking allows you to match your loads with your current location, plot your location on the ‘Live Availability’ map, allows your customer to track your location, and allows the system to generate ‘Pro Alerts’.

Status

Status

The mobile app also allows you to quickly register return journeys so that the system can match loads with your registered route.

There are 3 buttons to achieve this as quickly as possible:

  • Going Home: Use this button to register your current location (from) if you are going home as the app knows your home (to) location.
  • Going To: Use this button to register a journey from your current location to any other destination.
  • Future Journey: Use this button to register journeys from and to any location.

Load Alerts

This feature is based on your home location, current location and return journeys. It pushes load alerts directly to your website and contains all the information you need to know about the load pickup and delivery location. You will hear a ‘ping’ sound when a new alert has been received. You will also be able to find a map which details possible routes and distance timings. You can then make a quick decision on whether you want to take the load – if so, you tap on the phone number and call them.

In this feature, you can also receive email alerts and email notifications, including finding out the freight details, vehicle size and the poster details, especially if you want to know who posted the alert, their contact details and feedback in previous sales.

Alerts are also automatically deleted from your inbox at midnight of the day of collection, but you can swipe left to delete an individual alert at any time.

If you would like your drivers to receive load notifications, in addition to office staff, allowing them to quote on loads, click on ‘enable load alerts’ in the drivers’ profile in the ‘Drivers and Vehicles’ tab. However, this can only be found on the desktop version of the Exchange, and not on the mobile app.

Alerts Map

If you tap ‘View On Map’, you will be shown a suggested route. You will also see a flag to indicate the pickup and delivery points. The Alerts Map will show you the mileage of the job, the distance to pick up and the town you are in, which is all according to the locations and route entered by the customer.

Bookings

All allocated bookings will be in this section of the mobile app until midnight of the day of delivery. When you tap on a booking, it will expand to show the booking details and booking status. It updates when milestones are reached such as the delivery and pickup. You can also capture signatures here and add photos – these are embedded automatically in ‘Delivery Notes’.

Messenger

This feature allows you to have direct contact with exchange members, controllers or staffer bases.

My Journeys

In this feature, you can edit, delete and manage your journeys.

Who’s Nearby

This uses your current location to show you other members in the immediate vicinity. It is useful for deciding what price to enter on a load, and is handy if you’re on a break so you can contact other exchange members locally.

Deals

You can use this button to find special offers.

Settings

In this section, you can control the notification settings, report bugs, view the tour and remind yourselves of the terms and conditions.
